What is Internet Banking – Have Your Say;

The way we deal with money has definitely been impacted upon by the new generation of technology. Changing the way we bank the technology has made a convenient option for us suiting our needs and wants. With the Luxury of your living room online purchasing of  bills, groceries and that cute little outfit you saw the other day seems to be the way of the future, just type in the code and all is done a simple finger tip workout. Let’s just hope that you don’t forget the code.

A life style of luxury is what we all desire, but now it’s something real for which we can aspire. Technology has opened doors for us that earlier generations never even dreamed of. All of our shopping can now exclude lugging around a shopping mall with a screaming three year old and a trolley with a faulty wheel that you can’t bring into that interesting little corner shop you’ve been eyeing. With the time it takes to haul around the mall, made to manipulate your mind with twists turns and escalators galore you could have done the groceries paid the bills and not only found that cute outfit but even searched for it  and found it cheaper for yourself to buy. However, like if you can be rich then somebody has to be poor, there is a downside to the many ups.. Internet banking can be unsafe through things like spam, scamming and phishing schemes. The safety of whom or what you’re dealing with cannot stare at you straight in the eye and it can be difficult to find the trust worthy internet sites

In the last 20 years we have developed in computing technology drastically websites such as E-bay and Amazon have made their appearance creating the availability of online shopping, auctions trading and banking. Soon enough everything will be done over the internet and the internet will no-longer be just an online page, it will be a full scaled 3-d hologram site where we will be able to plug in, tune out and have our lives ruled by the internet. If they think this is big,  just wait until what’s to come.

Cheap, Convenient, Quick and reliable online banking has definitely re-invented the use of the internet. Online banking is a thing of the future; it is perfect for those who need another 24 hours in a day.

Internet banking does contain faults; these mainly centre on security, both financial and job security. Internet banking   has affects jobs in the banking industry for employees working with customers, with internet banking literally just a click away, the warm comforting smile of a banker is turning into a frown as their colleagues start to decrease in number and new job opportunities in their trade decrease whilst IT is on the rise, webmasters are about to become very popular as online banking grows as E-commerce. Despite the uprise, precautions must be taken as security is still at high risk. Internet transfers are not always safe and scams can leave people financially devastated but with a few simple cautious steps, online banking is a bright option.

Despite the known dangers, as I know of them and am cautious of dodgy websites, emails and spam the online banking industry is a benefit to the online world community.

When Transferring funds online problems that can occur usually involve fraud scheming and scams. The main error of this problem is that your personal details are used to purchase products Hackers can get hold of this information and use that to steal money for personal use.

Avoidance is very simple, double checking statements knowing what you bought and whoever other partner with a copy of that card has bought. Over billing may be hackers, especially on the internet. Use systems like B-PAY for bills and view your finances often using B-pays special viewer. Make sure you have proof of what you bought and always delete your browsing history in case access to your computer is available.

Safeguarding by keeping your details safe online: You have to remember not to give away details, use special accounts with different passwords so that even if hacked you will be safe from your normal personal details and passwords above instructions, not giving away your personal details on the phone and when buying items make sure the website is safe, secure and reliable. Finally always read through your statements properly.

 Ebay.

The world of Auctions have never been so ruthless and thrilling as what this site provides. Since september 1995 it has grown to become the amazing online battleground it presents to us today.

Ebay is ruthless and its customers- experts. The few seconds between the end of an auction are critical. those who win have the ability to place their bet within the last second of the auction without missing it all together. An ability that  has astounded me since I lost a Nintendo in the last two seconds of an auction. By fifty cents.

Ebay is not only a battle ground but it is safe and responsible socially accepted in society as not being one big scam- a great achieve ment on their part. It is the place to go to  buy and sell products of all kinds for  a low price.

Ebay is the home to many weird and wonderful items and the stories to those who go with it. things from famous singer James Blunt selling his sister as a “damsel in distress.” who needed a lift  but ended up marrying the man who was the highest bidder.

Then there goes to the rumour about the man with the paper clip, and how he earned is dream home by selling a paperclip on ebay, then buying a rubber then a pencil until he got up to cars and then finally his dream home.

Ebay is a many splendid things, including great buys, laughs and accessability. Ebay is one of the few sites with a reputation that is so highly upheld. All in all, a great online commercial site.

how you can protect yourself online from scams and fraud

  • What type of card to use – We are told to never use a debit card but rather a credit card that you put aside for online buying therefore it is safer to use online.

  • Email accounts- Like the card create a seperate email account especially used for online buying, and use a different password  therefore protecting yourself from spam and hackers as they cannot steal passwords and other details that you may contain on your regular email adress.

  • Security -My Internet Browser is  Fire fox and sometimes internet explorer. Fire Fox Has the benefits of being a wide community and is often updated with the option of add-ons amongst other widgets.  Its ease to use tabbing instead of opening up a million windows is useful and the  browser has the ability to book mark web pages that you use often as well as being able to revisit history.  Firefox also uploads and downloads much faster then other programs allowing you to access files and media products faster.

The internet Explorer browser is also useful in its reliabliity with me.It is one of the original browsers and can include a wide range of tools and widgets for you to use. It is compatible with most programs and doesn’t have to much spamming problems.

The safari browser is a browser especially uses in Apple mac (C) computers. This particular browser is useful and protected from viruses because of it’s main supporter. However  I find the browser very slow and loading takes much longer time then other browsers.

1.       Use the net to find out about the developments in this company over the last 10 years.

A: one of the first Major Websites that bought and sold products over the internet was Amazon. In 1994 the site that is called “Amazon” was created by a man under the name of Jeff Bezos. Within the last ten years The Amazon site has been improving it range by incorporating products with a cheaper price and thus doing so, enlarging their market niche.

Amazon has also worked to include certain products in time for the turn of the millennium.

In 1999 they added in products such as videogames, electronic devices, hardware and software and by 2002 they earned their first profit since they started, an unusual strategy that left Amazon afloat whilst many other e-companies crashed. Earning a profit of 5 million dollars, by the next year that had increased to 35.3 million and by 2006 it had increased its profit to a record breaking 10.7 Billion and now including the makings of an online shopping centre with a store for almost every subject: food, health, outdoors, clothes, jewellery, shoes etc.

The Book Kindle could revolutionise the books business as it would mean that you would have access to buying a new book 24/7 and would only have to go to the book store if you wanted a printed version. The Kindle would be easy and efficient for users and cheaper. Eventually this could cause the wipe out of the book-store business however that is still in quite a far distance. However, It will create  less copies being printed  after a year or two of the kindle being out on markets and so not only will it be efficient but also we will be helping save the planet.

An online transaction of business represents what E-Commerce is all about; it also represents the use of the kindle.  The World Wide Web was created by many people but was first brought up by a man under then name of Tim berners Lee. Berners Lee invented the WWW in1989 while working at CERN, the European Particle Physics Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland. He wrote the first WWW client ( a browser-editor)  and the first WWW server along with most of the communications software, defining URLs, HTTP and HTML. HTTP was the Hyper text transfer protocol, which we now see at the beginning of every website.( The protocol is a set of rules thatallow  documents on the internet connect to  all other documents through hyperlink. The link allowing a user to go from one document to another.)

Once http was established, The Inventors worked on a computer text, a  hyper-language, Html-HyperText Markup Language, allowed users  and programmers to set out, develop and change their text and images to their liking, anywhere in their layout.
